Egg Timer Test (costing about $70) that has recently hit the marketed can calculate the ovarian reserve of a woman, and, respectively, determine the number of years remaining before the menopause. However, as experts-reproductologists note, test results may provide an error of up to 60%.
The scientists have made this conclusion on the basis of analysis of data on the status of ovarian reserve of 5,000 women in the period 2008-2011.
It is clear that false test results caused panic among women over 35 years old. That is why reproductologists first of all recommend not to delay the first pregnancy, and secondly - to assess the state of female health based on the results of medical examinations, rather than of home testing.
